coffee thread

My mom always had a love for poetry, so as I grew I learned to appreciate it. I made a thread of free-verse poems about love and emotions all relating to the different parts of coffee. <3

Welcome to the beginning of my poetry threads! :D

mocha

coffee stained aroma

on an early afternoon

lives are a bit crazy

always having time for you

“extra mocha please”

you ask for shamefully

if only you knew how crazy i am for you

then maybe you’d like me too

 you smile gracefully

picking up your drink

i watch you pick a booth

you sit and take a long, deep sip

once you decide it’s time to go

i find myself in sorrow

but before i know it

i’ll see you again tomorrow

broken beans

beans grow in all different shapes and sizes

some may be used for coffee

others crafted into a delightful treat

but what about the broken beans?

the beans that were grown too little

or maybe a bit too imperfect

never had a chance to grow

brushed off as outcasts

the other beans were loved

they jumped and played in the sun

all together they created happiness

never to face rejection

but the beans played too roughly

and hurt the short and stout bean

they laughed at her pain

as she wallowed to hurt and suffering

the little bean decided to pick herself up

she glued herself all back together

and maybe one day the other beans will know

the strong little bean she turned into

sour milk

spoiled taste of love

merged with impurity

fallen in a rabbit hole

in a never-ending coffee swirl

my heart was so hurt

used as a pawn in a game

you let the milk sit on the counter

until it rotted in shame

adding sugar didn’t disguise

the strong flavor of sour

bitterness overtook my senses

the taste lingered for hours

even after you’re gone

the taste is still on my lips

every time i take a sip

i see a glass of spoiled milk

Espresso

one shot of espresso

each day at dawn

to muster the energy

just to get out of bed

not so long ago

when our arms

were intertwined

 the only caffeine needed

that morning

you disappeared

i lost all my senses

irreversible suffering

wistfully waiting for your return

longing for the thrill

the rush and the crash

just like a shot of espresso

What a clever, innovative, thematic way to write poetry. You may have started something! Your main thrust is certainly very personal. Try another subject that might be universal. See how that might go. I did like your creative approach.
