This poetry thread is spring-themed in preparation for Easter weekend. I made a lot of these from the heart and from friends and family who are around me. These poems are a mix of different structures. I also am featuring a haiku poem which is a Japanese-styled poem. Make sure to comment your thoughts below! <3
Violet
the pretty little thing at the end of the street
the purest flower, innocent and sweet
when the day meets an end she weeps in quiet
it just happens that her name is violet
violet works night and day
the price she has to pay
to try to keep the peace
between the roses and the statice
chocolate hair and vibrant eyes
she loves me to my surprise
i wonder if she knows i love her too
i never want her to feel so blue
petals bridled with colors of amethyst
the center of the flower, warm sun kissed
a long stem and petals too
her impeccable beauty, so true
i plucked her from a garden of graceful flowers
i want to spend with her every hour
how beautiful a violet like her can be
my violet, my friend, i feel so free
Egg Hunt
A golden egg sits against the wind
Waiting to be found by its lucky owner
It does not know love is found within
It lies by itself, just like a loner
The golden egg went through the winter
Resenting itself more and more
Each day passed by, but it only got colder
When springtime came it opened a door
A little girl running along the field
She found a glistening spec in the ground
Her heart was broken but it was instantly healed
She ran home to tell her mother just the lucky thing she had found
Searching and scrounging her whole life
Finally, she found it, in the sunkissed light
She needed the golden egg's love, no matter the price
This time was different, it felt just right
Out of all the lucky eggs in the world
Her love was found on a lucky spring morning
A promise to protect her, give her your word
Love comes to those who wait, mostly with no warning
Cherry Blossom
Glowing in the sun
It’s pink leaves fall in the breeze
Destined love blossoms
Metanoia
There was a girl
She was shy and innocent
Simple and soft
She resembled
A small caterpillar against the world
During the midst of summer
There was a drought
Engulfed in exhaustion
She felt evanescent and afraid
The caterpillar formed a chrysalis
She was hidden away
In her lonely cocoon
She wanted to heal
From the pain and hurt
That she endured
And so, she did
She bloomed into a beautiful butterfly
Covered in patterns and beautiful designs
Painted with colors of sky blue and baby pink
Lavender and ruby red
Full of self-love
And self-care
Ready to dream big
She was not shy and brittle
She was powerful and strong
Two glowing wings rested on her back
Who knew where she would go?
She opened a fresh chapter
Set a new story for herself
And flew away
Latte Love,
Jill

I love you so much you are sweeter than sugar, and I’m so happy that I inspired you to write a poem about lil ol me :)) ❤️❤️❤️
I really like the diversity of these threads of literature. Keep up the good and very careful choices you have made. Keep going!
Sometimes it’s better not to pluck the violet but nurture it. Always hold onto to those Golden to you.
Blossoms are great to watch bloom. Like a butterfly you will meta into a wonder of beauty
