As a girl, there are some experiences that a man will never comprehend. More importantly, there are emotions like sadness and anger that come out as a result of personal vendettas and inequality in today’s day and age. This certain emotion is one I like to call, “Female Rage” which is an emotion you may have felt as a person just trying to live on this weird floating rock that we call Earth.
There was a certain incident a while back that I can’t help but laugh over. A couple of months ago I had a situationship with a certain someone that I met through my best friend, Jill. Despite thinking he was the love of my life, it was quite a fun experience. I couldn’t relate to Olivia Rodrigo’s, “Love is Embarrassing” quite like I did the weeks following the demise of our relationship. Though, I do wish him the very best. Sometimes people don’t work out. On the bright side, I have a dog and the music school. Two things that are the sole factor of my existence.
For the sake of story-telling purposes, I’ll give this boy a fake name. We’ll call him Liam for the time being. I met him at a very popular restaurant in a beautiful country town, about 25 minutes away from where I’m located. We talked day and night for almost three months straight. I was genuinely really happy with him and playing videogames like Fortnite was a very interesting experience. (I carried him, of course.)
Our first and only date was a very interesting experience, to say the least. Liam took me to a basketball game at his local high school. I had a lot of fun because it was a sort of double date as two of my other friends joined. I had absolutely no idea how basketball worked so I was really just drooling over my date the entire time. However, he did buy my friend and me candy, so it wasn’t as bad as it seemed.
Music would blare from the speakers in the gym whenever the home team scored a point. Liam would do this funky dance every time the music played to what I presume to be one of his favorite rap songs. It was kind of an arm dance but he would make this face and I just wanted him to… not.
“Hahaha, Liam stopppp…. Hahah stoppp… no like actually stop.” I said this to him about every time he danced, but he would just keep doing it. I try not to think about this moment a ton.
Fast forward to January of 2024, when Liam’s ex found out we were talking. What made it even worse was that his ex was my best friend's old best friend. It was really awkward. Anyways, this girl was so obsessed that she stalked me at my work and the next day at school, she put her arm around my man. She said horrible things about me, and you know what Liam’s response was? Just take a guess.
"Ight."
This sparked the deep depths of my female enragement and like the girl boss I am, I texted his ex and issues did indeed not get resolved. We argued over a boy which is simply something I will never do again because it hurt more than it helped.
From there, our situationship quickly ended. Liam’s birthday was coming up and I bought him all these expensive gifts. I even bought him Versace cologne. That’s how down bad I was for this guy. Anyway, he ghosted me for a week and told me, “I just can’t handle the drama.” Rest in peace to romance.
Female rage is an emotion all girls will experience a couple of times throughout their lives. It’s only healthy. Romance comes to those who wait and female rage will come to any gal that is wrongfully harmed. One thing that I have learned from the whole ordeal is to not post any more videos crying over a boy and eating the chocolate man candy you got him for his birthday, but I digress. Who really knows all of the secrets of the universe? What could be next? Female love? Female cries? Stay tuned to hear more from one of your favorite authors!
Latte Love,
Jill

You will do better
The truth is that issues like this seem to be part of the human learning curve. They certainly are unfortunate and unkind but usually fade, not forgotten, in time. Your future relationships will benefit from this realization. Keep the faith!
