Fahlo

A whisper of wind, a splash in the sea, or even a snow angel in the cold—Fahlo (Fall - Oh) is a new, trendy way to spread your love for animals through a simple bracelet, card, and phone! Whether you’re tracking an elephant or watching a video of a snow leopard, Fahlo does its part to protect animals in a fun, safe, and engaging way!

On a trip to downtown Irwin, my close friend Fiona and I stumbled upon Feather’s Marketplace, a small gem in a quaint town. I was immediately drawn to all the cute decor, jewelry, and crystals—and then I came across some beaded bracelets on a little display tower. That was when the journey began. Fiona picked one up, and after a stop at Starbucks, she ended up ordering three more and gave me one. What started as just one bracelet quickly turned into an obsession for both of us.

Here's how it works: first, pick a bracelet. Whether you're visiting a local store like Feather's or shopping directly on the Fahlo website, there’s a wide range of animals to choose from. Some of their growing options include snow leopard, wolf, sea turtle, elephant, polar bear, shark, penguin, lion, giraffe, dolphin, gorilla, sloth, manatee, and whale shark. When you receive your bracelet, you'll also get a card with the name of your tracked animal, a QR code, and a brief description of your animal.

When you scan the QR code, you can explore your animal’s past and present movements. The “about me” section includes pictures and/or videos, total distance traveled, average speed, age, offspring, and their biggest threats. Right now, I’m tracking an elephant named Luna, a 20-year-old mother of two calves born in 2016 and 2020. Luna was collared to help researchers study orphaned elephant behavior after her mother and most of her family were killed in the poaching crisis. Elephant tracking is specifically delayed by four months due to the illegal hunting of endangered animals like Luna. Thankfully, her whereabouts are safely monitored by Save The Elephants.

Fahlo partners with several nonprofits to protect animals and their habitats, donating over $3 million to support wildlife conservation. These nonprofits include the Snow Leopard Conservancy, Saving Animals From Extinction, Georgia Aquarium, Marine Discovery Center, The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, Sea Turtle Conservancy, Save The Elephants, Polar Bear International, Saving the Blue, Global Penguin Society, Ewaso Lions, Somali Giraffe Project, The FIU Marine Mammal Ecology Lab, The Sloth Conservation Foundation, and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

To go the extra mile, Fahlo also offers plushies and other merchandise available directly through their website. Their beaded bracelets come in a variety of colors, from Sky Stone to Coral Reef Violet. My collection so far includes Nala the snow leopard, Luna the elephant, and Wilbur the dolphin.

Purchasing and tracking an animal is a small but meaningful way to donate to these amazing conservation efforts and give back to our planet and the wildlife that inhabits it. Shop directly on Fahlo to make a difference!

Hey Jillian, I received a Fahlo gift from Michael to track a sea turtle named Coral. We rescue stranded sea turtles in Cape Cod Bay so this is a great program to support!
