Iced pumpkin spiced lattes and orange leaves crunching beneath your feet sound like something straight out of a book. It’s amusing to romanticize life. How can you make some overused coffee order and dead leaves SO aesthetic? I’ll tell you why girly. It’s because this IS the fall girl aesthetic. Every basic girl is going to love jeans and sweater weather with that cool chill in the air. How does one achieve this classic, yet elegant look known as the fall girl aesthetic?
To start, jeans are most prominent in achieving this look. You can choose anywhere between flared jeans to mom jeans. Although, there are two rules. Absolutely no rips and absolutely no whites. Any fall activity including apple picking, hayrides, or pumpkin carving is usually pretty hands-on. I mean, imagine all the dirt and grime that sticks with you throughout the day. Disgusting. Anyway, my point is to have that classic jean look. Make sure it’s giving Elena Gilbert or Bella Swan! Cold weather and rips just don’t vibe.
The second step is to grab the tallest boots you own. Tall boots and long jeans give off such a fall grunge vibe. Since it’s so cold in the dead of Pennsylvania in October, these two items together will keep you all bundled up. Preferably, I choose a classic black or brown boot, but you can always choose something with a bit more spice. Red or orange are wonderful picks that also stay on top of that classic fall look. Although it’s not the safest choice, it's respectable. Now, if you don’t own a tall pair of boots, that’s alright too! Tall boots can easily be substituted with short boots, converse, or vans. In my opinion, these options are the safest to wear with jeans. Even though they aren’t boots, they still fit the aesthetic.
Now it’s time to pick a top to pull this look all together. Layers are an absolute must. A light-colored tank top is the first layer. Incorporating a lace tank top into your ensemble adds an extra layer of style. The more elegance and class, the better. The second layer consists of neutral-colored tops including shades such as white, black, gray, cream, and more. This way, the top blends with the tank top and jeans, which makes the fit come together. You’re almost aesthetic.
Your final stop is Starbucks. Only there will you be able to find the finish line to achieve the fall girl aesthetic we so desire. Try ordering one of the most delicious fall drinks, a venti iced pumpkin spiced latte with extra caramel drizzle and pumpkin cold foam. However, I suppose any fall menu drink item will work. Once you step out of those Starbucks doors and take a long sip from your cup, you’ll be born a new person. Is… this it? Is this what it feels like to be the fall girl aesthetic?
Now that you know the secrets to becoming a classic fall girl, go out and try it. Indulge what it feels like to be a young teenager in the fresh October air. Go out with your friends to a hayride, go apple picking, or find any fall activity that piques your interest. Most of all, enjoy this fall. Make the most out of the memories you have in your spare time. Before you know it, you’ll be 50 years old, stuck in a full-time job you hate, but on the bright side, you’ll always remember the silly times you had in the fall of ‘23.
Latte Love,
Jill
